The SlapShot™ MAPX utilizes Core Projectile Modules™ and Interchangeable Components™ to create predictable projectile performance. The Mechanically Adaptable Projectile™ (MAP) is designed to enable the adaptation of the projectile to varied target mediums for optimized pressure wave propagation. The projectile is suitable for personal and home defense, hobbyist, sportsmen, law enforcement and military.
Military and Law Enforcement Application
The terminal ballistics of MAPX can be altered to control the depth of penetration and maximize impact on a specific target. Models intended for professional applications utilize different components and unique design characteristics to meet a range of mission profiles encountered by law enforcement and military. Mechanically Adaptable Projectile performance is adaptable, enabling precise applications for defense, breaching, suppressive fire, non-reflexive impact and applications where over penetration is a concern. While on the range, we were able to quickly alter MAPX performance by changing the Interchangeable Component. While it would be rare for a professional to alter ammunition in the field, it is something that can be done anywhere. Interchangeable Components can be exchanged between multiple calibers and come in many different designs with a range of materials having known reactive characteristics.
Consumer versions of the PHD and MAPX will be available for reloading in 2018. Factory loads will also be available at that time. Although most of our research has gone into military and law enforcement applications, the first release of SlapShot ammunition will be for consumer use and is designed for home and personal defense. Manufacturing development is in progress and we expect consumer product in January of 2018.
